Description - Pauls Malt Angry Angler - Roast Barley 1400 - 1600 EBC 1 kg

Astringent, bitter, burnt taste, with coffee and nutty flavours. Provides colour to beer. Depending on the quantity added, it can produce a deep red hue or a rich dark black. Roast coffee flavour. No enzymatic potential. Contains gluten.

Angry Angler is produced at the Pauls Malt Ltd. plant in Knapton, North Yorkshire, UK. Unmalted barley is roasted in a rotating roast drum at temperatures of up to 240°C. Water is used to extend the roasting time and for quenching and cooling at the end of a roast to prevent combustion.

  • 400 -1600 EBC
  • 5% of the mix in addition to base malts for Ales, increase to 10% to achieve porter hues
