Wort aeration

Aerating your wort can greatly increase the quality of your brew. Note: we are talking here about cold wort. When mashing, filtering and rinsing, you want to avoid oxygen uptake as much as possible, as this can lead to off-flavours and oxidation aromas. With cold wort, oxygen can improve yeast absorption.
